We are pleased to announce the 2026 Stephen D. Lee Institute will be held February 27-28, 2026, at the Doubletree by Hilton Raleigh-Durham Airport, North Carolina. Registration includes Saturday Lunch – Deli style buffet. Saturday Supper – Plated Chicken Entree. This year’s topic:
“The South 250 Years After
the Declaration of Independence”
The Stephen D. Lee Institute, now in its eighteenth year, is one of the best programs the SCV has for spreading the truth about our Confederate Heroes. The Stephen D. Lee Institute, which annually assembles some of the best minds in the South, discusses important issues about our Southern Heritage.
Speakers
Our faculty for this year’s event will include:
Dr. Thomas J. DiLorenzo — “Lincoln those "Unalienable" Rights." President of the Ludwig von Mises Institute in Auburn, AL. He is author of The Real Lincoln and Lincoln Unmasked. Dr. DiLorenzo as the authority most often referred to when we are destroying the icon of Lincoln.
Dr. Jeffery F. Addicott — “Trampling on the Declaration.” Professor of Law and the Director of the Warrior Defense Project at St. Mary's University School of Law, San Antonio, Texas.
Dr. Wanjiru Njoya — “Marxism, Cultural Revolution, and the South.” Currently works as the Walter E. Williams Research Fellow at the Ludwig von Mises Institute, a think tank in Auburn, AL.
James R. (Ron) Kennedy — “Reconstruction and the Death of the Declaration.” Author and co-author of more than twenty books on Southern history and limited government. He is best known as the co-author of The South Was Right!
Walter D. (Donnie) Kennedy — “The Genesis of the Declaration.” Author and co-author of 16 books on Southern history and limited government. He and his twin brother, Ron Kennedy, are co-authors of The South Was Right! Donnie currently serves as the Commander-in-Chief of the Sons of Confederate Veterans.
Paul C. Graham, serving as Host and Master of Ceremonies — Managing Director of Shotwell Publishing and is currently the SCV's Chief of Heritage Operations.
